Crafted light filter modules: porcelain multiples that are combined into a larger whole by coupling.

PROJECT INFORMATION

Light filters for architectural applications in interiors to contribute to the improvement of the visual quality of the domestic- and working environment.

Design process

Material- and structure tests, knitting and crocheting. Prototype development.

Material research and the execution of the tests in collaboration with Marjo Verburg. A co-creation project.

The start was a study at the EKWC into the Poetic Brick: translucent with an open structure.

It was partly a social project, with the collaboration with knitters, and partly an industrial project with production research in the knitting workshop of the Municipal Museum of Sint Niklaas, Belgium.
